Multi-Country Middle East Itineraries: Combining Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Oman

Some of our most memorable itineraries are the ones that refuse to stop at a single country. Because several Gulf destinations sit within a short flight, or even a scenic drive, of one another, it is entirely possible to build a two or three-week trip that moves seamlessly between cities, deserts and coastlines without the fatigue of long-haul connections between each stop.

Why Combine Destinations

Each Gulf country has a distinct personality: the UAE’s ambition and skyline, Oman’s untouched landscapes, Qatar’s cultural investment, Bahrain’s history. Combining two or three into a single trip gives a far richer sense of the region than any one destination alone, and often works out more efficient than two entirely separate holidays.

A Sample UAE and Oman Itinerary

  • Nights 1-3: Dubai, city landmarks and a private desert safari
  • Nights 4-5: Abu Dhabi, culture and the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque
  • Nights 6-9: Muscat and the Wahiba Sands, Oman, reached by a short flight from Abu Dhabi
  • Nights 10-11: Jebel Akhdar mountain resort, Oman

Getting Between Countries

Flights between Gulf capitals are frequent and short, typically under 90 minutes, making country-hopping far easier than it sounds. Where a land border crossing is more practical, such as between the UAE and Oman’s Musandam peninsula, we arrange private drivers to handle the logistics entirely.

Other Popular Combinations

  • Jordan and Egypt, pairing Petra with the Pyramids and a Nile cruise
  • Qatar and Bahrain, an easy pairing of two compact, culture-focused Gulf cities
  • Saudi Arabia and the UAE, combining AlUla’s heritage with Dubai’s modern energy
